Talk German to me......Oh. And of course I am scrapping.

Sweet silence.

Well, maybe not so much. It is Sunday and I am playing in silence as the boys are busy and have left me alone. This is the first time in a while that I have had a large stretch of time all to myself and the funny thing is, day 1, I was completely bored as hell.

And what is even funnier is that there are many times I have longed for a day that I could have a day to myself and do what I wanted, with NO DISTRACTIONS. And what happens? I have no idea what the heck to do. It kills me!

So, now I am out of that funk and I have a few things on the go. First and foremost, I am getting my fingers extremely dirty. I decided to play around with some stamping and my supplies and pulled a mucky-muck.

A little Staz On. Some Ranger Perfect Pearls, Alcohol Inks and Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paints. Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.

I am getting onto the Glimmer Mists a little more. They are definitely growing on me. They aren't just for spraying projects. I am having a ton of fun shaking them up and then dipping a paintbrush in the bottle and just giving my projects a color wash.

The Crackle paint is also pretty fun. I am having a good time trying to figure out how to get the best results on a project. Some stuff works brilliantly. Some not so much.

I tried it on metal and the results were more of an interesting texture. Cracks, meh. However, they are awesome on the Tim Holtz Grungeboard.

Now, I have to tell you about the COOLEST SITE EVER! Have you ever wanted to learn a new language? Or maybe you want to brush up on a language you have already learned? Or maybe you need to learn a little bit of a language for a trip? Then you NEED to visit www.livemocha.com.

This site is completely FREE. You register and tell what language you are fluent or native in and you set up what languages you want to learn. Then you take lessons that teach you how to speak, read and write it.

Here's what so neat about it too. In the community, you help others and others help you. You work together with others and help them hone their language skills. And.... you speak to others over the net! How neat is that? Now I need to pick up a microphone, though.

So, now that I found this place, I am going to try to sloooowly to learn a few languages just for the heck of it. I am starting on French, just mainly because it is our second official language here in Canada and I always learned a little through my life. I have no idea what I'll try for next. I guess whatever tickles my fancy.

Anyhow, there you have it. Join up and maybe I'll be speaking to you soon! Later!

Funky cool find! Paper, paper wonderful paper!

I absolutely love to find cool new things and particularly when it comes to scrapbooking. Sometimes you want to find some things that are different and unique. I was so excited to find some great paper that I really haven't seen a lot of around these parts.

Here I am wandering the aisles at my favoritist scrapbook store Treasured Memories and there it was!

It is paper company from Germany called Danyeela patterned paper. Her designs are so striking and screamed, "BUY ME JANINE! BUY ME!"

And so I did. And I'm sure I'll but more.

And in case you don't believe me, here is a page I did using this gorgeous stuff.

See? Told you! The paper is AMAZING. If you want to see more, make sure that you go look at work by the uber talented ladies Janine Langer and Nathalie Kalbach.

Hope you check it out!

Happy Father's Day!

Hello to all of you on Father's Day!

It has been a while since I blogged. I'll admit this took a back seat for a while, but I am back. I lost my scrap mojo for a short period but I am happy to report that I am ever so slowly getting out of the funk.

I think it is just because I had a lot going on and trying to clean house in other areas of life kept me from feeling any vibe to create. Oh well, we all get there sometimes.

So yes, back to the subject. Father's Day. I want to stop and thank a couple of folks.

First, my Dad. I have a lot to say about you, but I will keep it short and sweet. Thank you for being you. Sometimes, I think I don't give you enough credit, but I am saying, thanks and I love you.

Second, my husband. I love you, my dear. So does our boy. You are a wonderful father and family man and I thank my lucky stars for the Dad that you are.

I also made another little page. I am trying on the 8.5x11 format to mix it up a bit and I liked what I got. I think I am coming black. LOL

But that is really it. Short and sweet. Just a little update to what is up. Busy with the everyday and stopping in to say hi!

So. Tired. Must. Post. RAK winner. and other things.

First off, I want to start off by posting my RAK prize winner, for one of my Purse-O-Nality class kits.

Congratulations Jenny in Maine!

If you could email me at Janine.Wahl@gmail.com, I'll have that right out to you!

Thanks for all your fun girlfriend stories, I love to hear them because we really do have such strong and special bonds, don't we?

Speaking of female bonding.....

I am so. tired. I had a late night last night in Edmonton, but had so much fun! It took a month of careful and completely covert planning, but we had a little surprise party for our friend Anam.

Anam isn't one for making a big fuss, but you know, this is just what we do when someone is having a baby. You're in Canada now, you gotta deal girlie. But I know she loves us for thinking of here and she's very welcome. We love her dearly and glad that we could bring a smile to her face and spend some time with her.

And yep, here is my contribution to her baby book. All I kept thinking was that she already had Fay, so how much advice could she get that she didn't already know.
So, in true Janine fashion, I decide the smart alec approach was the way to go.

Aren't those hilarious? I laughed for an hour after I found them. I thought perfect. Pregnancy brain does strange things to one's mind and sometimes a useful reminder helps.

And sadly, I forget my flippin' camera so I got no pics of the fun and mayhem, but if you check out Juli's blog you'll see the fun!

Meanwhile, the munchkin hung out with his Uncle and Aunt and they all had a wonderful time. Jake thinks the world of his Uncle Jared.

So, I hope that you all got your entries in for Prima's Go Green Contest! If not, tsk, tsk. hee hee
I have been cruising that gallery and I am completely blown away by the creativity of the entries. Wow. I mean it. Wow.

And I made another contribution for some more Go Green ideas. I made this tag book by using the back of the Prima brad nail packaging as my template. And..............on the back of the journaling card that I used, I used the backing from a Felt Mattie as a mask. I laid it on top of my card and I sprayed some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. And if you haven't played with that stuff, for shame! No, seriously, that stuff is fun.

See ! The mask and the Glimmer Mist.

Alrighty, thanks for stopping by!
